@user also, all our classic moments in hip hop (at others expense) were only classic to us because of the fact that...well...gay niggas aint have a voice back then.

Maybe if they were more prominent back in those days, maybe moments we currently cherish due to nostalgia wouldn't have happened at all in the first place. Our viewpoint of this would change if during the 90s niggas were made to be more aware of gay people back then.

But I put all of this moreso on the failures of Reagan and Bush though than niggas that just aint know no better. But it's interesting to think about. I aint saying cancel every line that was ever made at anyone's expense from 1978 to now, but all I'm just saying is accountability HAS to start somewhere especially now that LGBTQIA+ people do have a prominent voice.

There were entire movements against gangsta rap because it depicts violence against black people/mistreatment of women.

• There was a group led by C.Delores Tucker (black female politician) calling for boycott
  of snoop doggs album doggystyle (considered a classic despite very questionable lyrics/depiction of relations with women...) and was against gangsta rap in general

• Here's a speech by a preacher that got used for the intro of thuggish ruggish bone by bone thugs and harmony
  they only used the first 6 seconds, when you've only heard the song you'd think it's just a hater talking, but he kind of speaking facts...

At the end of the day, people speak out against issues in hip hop but you'll have people like @user who don't stand for anything ,defending those issues because they're comfortable with how things are -

I think comedy is best when punching up instead of down, and a lot of these rappers might want to think of the long term effects of only bringing up queer folk as a punchline BUT I agree with a lot of what you’re saying

However, I don’t think we should compare this to rappers talking about violence because the violence we see in those communities is a product of white supremacy and regulations solely meant to keep black folk in poverty so that they commit need based crimes. There’s also a ton of ways people work towards ending that violence while there’s still debate on how people should talk about queer folks. For that reason, I wouldn’t expect people to talk about these issues in the same way.
