All this talk of securing bags is hysterical
You are the bag, you gon’ stay rich if you take care of you
Material is not comparable, people stay dripped in designer, but they treat themselves terrible
It’s ‘effed up, head to toe rockin Fendi
But when it come time to eat, they go and buy Wendy’s.
Puttin’ trash in ya body, that’s non-friendly
Eat gas station hot dogs in back of Bentley’s
Y U C K ! ! !
I like when people rap about things that may seem too awkward for conversation, like reminiscing on regret, death..like anything that breaks the veil of "coolness" and "perfection"
Any examples?
I like typical gun d*** thug rap when there's an air of self-awareness to it. Ice T, Jay, and of course Pusha all mastered that art without it coming off corny and silently preachy
1. Being better or best
2. I'd like if people rapped more about love and relationships concerning family and friends. Family Business one of my favorite song cause of this, just feels so pure and heartwarming.
This was an anthem for me at one point
Idk, but I like it when rappers switch it up a bit.
Nothing relating with the classic topics, but after a while you start to need a little variety
Dogs out of food so I go to the store
Can't let him be hungry so I have to buy more
He is great and he is cool
When he sees the food he just might drool
I open the bag and he runs right up
I tell him sit down so I can feed you pup
i like when lupe raps about random s*** metaphorically
dude is probably my favorite rapper OAT

i like it when rappers rap intensely about tragic/traumatic life experiences or are airing out like emotional intensity about a topic, stuff like LUM's bedwetter side project or oblivion access
not a casual listen but i have a heightened appreciation for it
alternatively full narratives, stuff like Get Down by Nas

Was just thinking of Bedwetter when I saw this thread, when you're in a truly awful place, stuff like Stoop Lights can genuinely help, it's reassuring in a way to know that other people can relate to what you're going through

i think theres a level to which music like that is cathartic when you arent used to expressing intense emotion in your own life
