    but fr tho what I mean is that with soul trash he put together a fire project that’s really disconnected sonically and genre less, with a lot of influence from current sounds (making sure it slaps compared to the s*** that’s hot) while still being messy and “natural feeling”/demo like. The ethos being trying to keep the sound and feeling as close to “pure expression” as possible, not editing the songs past the moment they were created and sucking the feeling out of them with more mixing, new takes, rewritten lyrics etc

    He plays with his vocal mixing/pitching in a similar but more developed way to Igor, and put out songs with a lot more replay value and playability apart from the project. To me Igor was a cool first listen but I didn’t find myself wanting to revisit the project or many songs.

    Also I think this messy direction is the same direction frank and a lot of others are going as a counter trend to the super-clean and perfectly mixed sound the industry has been going (omnisphere + 808s + autotune).
