It's all hopeless man. Health care, housing, and education about to be on the back burner for another 4 years.

I haven’t given this deep thought.. but I keep hearing this argument, just curious what makes you think the people who didn’t turnout would’ve voted against ford?

  • Let's be honest, we would've been screwed no matter what at this point.

liberals cut healthcare funding before too.

Canada has immigrated so many people which has ultimately affected housing and healthcare. Blaming it completely on doug ford is stupid

Got a source for the Liberal cuts you're referring to? All I can find is a $54 million cut in the 2015 budget, which pales in comparison to chronic underfunding by the Ford government over the last several years:

In total, the FAO projects that the Province’s health sector spending plan has a net funding shortfall over the six-year period from 2022-23 to 2027-28 of $21.3 billion. The shortfall means that the Province has not allocated sufficient funds to the health sector to support existing programs and announced commitments.

    Source: fao-on.org/en/report/health-2023

If you want to blame this on immigration that's your prerogative, but it's undisputed fact that during Doug Ford's premiership Ontario has had the lowest healthcare and education spending per capita in all of Canada and it's not projected to increase anytime soon.

So what's the logic here my guy

Doug Ford doesn't have to do anything to fix healthcare because almost a decade ago, the Liberals made cuts to deal with a declining healthcare system that can be easily traced back to the austerity of the Mike Harris years?

Do you honestly believe that if you removed every immigrant from Ontario that healthcare, education, and housing would suddenly become better over night?

These things did not end up the way they are because of some unsuspecting immigrant that came from a different country hoping for a better life. Look around you, the infrastructure for these things is not being invested into. We can sit here and go back and forth about what Wynne did or didn't do, but that doesn't change the fact that Doug Ford, the guy who's currently in power and has been for 7 years now, is actively privatizing the services you depend on and selling them off to his millionaire buddies.

You've gotta be a real slack jawed bootlicker to blame your problems on immigrants who pay the same taxes as you

  • Guess I'm a slack jawed bootlicker

what's a "good" immigrant to you?

do you really believe that people who have left their home country choose to become low-paid, unprotected uber drivers? or are they just dealing with a s***ty job market and uber is the most viable option that's available to them? who's really responsible for ensuring a healthy job market?

do you really believe that people choose to live with 20 others in one house? or is it that home, rent, and other cost of living prices have skyrocketed and people have to do what they can to survive? do we have a premier who has shown any interest in rent control or protecting tenants?

I'm not saying any of it is right or ok, but seriously ask yourself these questions. You're pinning the blame on people who realistically have 0 power to change their circumstances. They're just dealing with a system that's falling apart, same as the rest of us.

ur right I should blame the government who allowed so many people to come here for cheap labour and corporations to lower their costs

(and rent and other cost of living has skyrocketed because of that reason)
