I don't think they would've pushed it back to two months if that was the case, would just be a waste of time and money for everybody involved. Also there's supposedly other evidence that has been discussed and collected like gunshot residue and apparently the gun being warm.
Seems like at this point they just gonna get down to who actually fired the gun.
