I don’t think sales should count in a top ten but I was going thru and listening to some of Drakes s*** the other night as the lyrics on Apple Music scrolled and maybe it was the weed but I kept thinking man this nigga is actually him lyrically and sometimes we take it for granted because he’s Drake and has been omnipresent for so long
Everyone with ears knows 5AM In Toronto is one of the best lyrical tracks of the past decade
That NWTS-IYRTITL era, Drake was BUGGING.
Be realistic. He really doesn’t have any songs that complete with the greats.
just say you don't listen to music mane.
just say you don't listen to music mane.
I’ve heard those songs before
I’ve heard those songs before
so you're just a dumb nigga.
that's cool too. your opinion on hip hop holds no value tho.
I just find it funny when these media personalities clearly and obviously switch "Rapper" with "MC" just so some of their fav dusty lyrical miracle rappers could make their lists.
Because if the metric is; Technical ability (subject matter, mic presence, storytelling ability, etc), impact and influence, and discography.... how can guys like Chuck D, Cube, Rakim, Ghost make it, but not Pac and Drake?
The former clearly miss out on some of the metrics that Pac and Drake check.
Thoughts?
pac is top 5
just say you don't listen to music mane.
dudes dont know wtf they're talking about. They imagine that just bc "I've never heard of it" means the music is weak. the songs just aren't in the public awareness as much but Black Thought is among the best
“Growing up is realizing” — growing up is realizing nobody can pronounce a f***ing Toure without sounding like a deaf person at a spelling bee
This is some serious old head take
But man, even then it's dumb not to have Pac on there.
I could see rappity rap old heads sympathizing with this stance tho
Like be f***ing fr you dweeb
Man what is that second song
