    Unsurprisingly, reactions are glowing.

Feel like this could be Pixar’s best reviewed movie since the first Inside Out.

Pixar always gonna lock in with Toy Story

People only hate these sequels cause the internet tells them to

Was literally born the weekend the first came out and kids today still go crazy for it.

It’s Pixar’s Mario. They’re not gonna let the quality slip.

i liked four initially, but after a while it just grew off of me because the emotional payoff didn’t feel satisfying. my cynical side was rolling my eyes knowing this wouldn’t be the last of them, so it felt hollow to me. it just felt like an unnecessary extended epilogue like el camino or some s***.

this time around (judging from trailers and the director himself), it feels like they’re more self aware than ever to not f*** this one up

Honestly after rewatching 2, I think this series has mostly just been alright with the first one being the clear highlight

Seeing people’s reactions to the embargo lift and goddamn, I can’t think of a film in recent memory where people seemingly want it to be bad, actively REFUSING to believe it could be good.

I think it’s simply because they thought 4 was trash and critics pretended it was the greatest movie ever made

It’s fine in like a fun Saturday morning cartoon way but just simply said, the entire conflict and thematic arcs of the film feel more episodic than major like what you saw with 1 and 3.

It actually started as a straight to VHS movie made by Disney then Pixar stepped in and said nah if we’re doing a sequel to our property we’ll handle it and it’s going to theaters

I read the original script for the sequel it was way different

interesting, I feel like the conflict is sort of like boiled potatoes in the first one. more of a strong, hearty, template as opposed to something you go to for flavor / emotional resonance. the next two feel like they increase the scope.
