I havent seen 4 but me personally I like things ending before they jump the shark. Seems like 5 fully restored the feeling though so cant be mad at it.
4 felt like a spinoff almost. 5 really feels like a main movie
This was great, much better than 4. Liked all the new characters, I could've used even more Lilypad. Loved how it wrapped up.
When all the Buzzs got the software upgrade and went into drone mode, cinema.
"You're stuck with me, Deputy.
All the scenes with the Buzz army were pure cinema it was crazy
Could’ve used more of the OG toys tho. I dont trust these post toy story 2 characters
People are so desperate for these to end like they haven’t literally gone 5/5 with this movie

Even a lot of the shorts are good and bring up interesting scenarios like fast food toys and they did an actual video game short

I haven’t seen 5 yet but I’m pretty sure some of the og cast have passed unfortunately

https://twitter.com/gentledoofus/status/2071271509973229967It's because 3 felt like the end of the franchise. If it didn't, I don't think people would think they were milking it.

They were replaced they just dont have many lines
Is Jessie kinda..
Is this an a*** joke??
Just saw this in theaters with a lot my family for the 4th of july
It was actually good! They redeemed themselves from ass part 4
Is Jessie kinda..
Hold up i aint catch this
unrelated but i hate when ppl talk about 3 and how sad and scared they felt during the incinerator scene. i was 10 when ts dropped and never felt that because you have to be brain dead to have genuinely thought that was going to be the sad part of the film or that they were actually going to kill off toys un a G rated pixar cartoon movie
Toy Story 6 is gonna be the toys filling out Bonnie's college application while she sulks in a corner.
I'm of the opinion that these movies get slightly worse every time, but that they're still pretty good. I liked this a little less than 4, which I liked a little less than 3 and so on.
The first hour of this felt like the writers were struggling, moving pieces around and trying to get us to care with familiar characters forced into a stale omg technology conflict. Unfortunately, this movie has the weakest jokes of the series, so I didn't have as much fun with this portion as I wanted to.
Thankfully, the final act has such a great emotional payoff to it that I didn't really mind. The movie isn't about technology so much as it is about staying true to yourself and not changing to make people like you, which is a solid message. The animation was also gorgeous throughout, especially the imaginary play scenes. Really great.
for being the fifth film of this lovely franchise, they still can’t miss! the gang is back and I couldn’t be happier. I had a ton of fun with this one, especially with it being a Jessie centric story. animation continues to improve with every entry, and I loved the style used during the play sessions. the story was pretty simple overall, but I liked the theme of tech vs toys. Conan was a standout and had me laughing whenever his character was on screen. Pixar continues its hot streak this year and I can’t wait for Gatto next year.
8/10
