Damn what part? Was hearing Honululu the best, and that there’s not as much going on over at Maui & Kauai

Maui rocks. Went there and Oahu this past summer and much preferred it over Oahu.

Went with friends and family but I met a girl there who was travelling alone and she seemed to be having a great time.

Didn’t really sense any prejudice like that. Especially the way it is here in the states. I would say this and this goes for many countries, because you are a tourist you are a lick. That’s not saying it in a bad way like you’re bound to get robbed or something but you just kinda have to understand that in some places you can be the difference between someone being able to eat and not eat, so you just have to be cautious with how much money you carry, how you dress, and just how you treat people. Just can’t trust every one and that’s probably more of a common rule in general

I never made myself look or seem too touristy. Always dressed similar to the locals, was super nice and just made smart decisions.

But yes if you go to eat they will charge you a little more because you’re a tourist but I never had an issue paying because I understood the dynamic.

The guy that ubered me to my air bnb. I made friends with him. I told him instead of me paying him through uber I will just pay him directly so he won’t have to get fees taken out and he agreed. I asked him how much he made a week and paid him double that by the end of the trip and now I have a point of contact next time I got there. His wife even cooked for me one night.

In return he made sure I got the best exchange rate, he told me what spots were safe and which spots weren’t, and basically how to stay safe and made sure I was treated more fairly in terms of pricing.

You actually seem like a good travel buddy which is ironic considering the thread

Go in the Spring time. Weather is perfect and less tourists. It only rained one day that I was there but it cleared. Mostly in the 80s, at night it would get into the 70s.

Stay away from Waikiki. Its meant more for foreigners. You'll meet alot of Japanese, Australians, Polynesians and Filipinos.

Hotels closer to water anywhere on Oahu tend to be more expensive but worth it if you want those epic sunrises and sunsets. And a great view of the blue waters.

There's no shortage of good food on the island. Check out the garlic shrimp trucks on the North Shore. Get loco moco, poke, lau lau, etc.
There's an excellent Korean fried chicken spot called Itchy Butt. Yes, that's the name of it and its small. You cant even go in it.

You will see alot of homeless sleeping on beaches or in the treeline near the beach.

No one outside of Honolulu is in a rush. Very laidback so be patient. Its actually quite nice if you come from mainland America where everyone is in a hurry.

Honolulu main airport is rundown though. Could use major upgrades if they didnt already.

Get a lei when you land. Because why the f*** not. And its fresh flowers they use.

Waimanalo beach has the best light blue waters. And its not busy.

Dont try to take anything out of Hawaii or bring anything in from mainland U.S. On the plane (atleast with Delta), they make everyone sign a slip saying you wont do this. When you leave Honolulu, you gotta go through U.S. customs near baggage check in and they scan your bags and look in them to make sure you arent taking any sand or wildlife.

My only regret is that I didnt go into the local grocery stores and look around for local things.

Wouldn't it be good for one to go when tourists were frequent, if they wanted to meet people?

My homie also actually recommended me check out Waikiki, he said it's like LA, you can jet ski, and there's a lot of nightlife.

Did you spend alot of money for yout hotel? Considering the hostel option myself to save & meet people.

Damn, Italy one of the few countries I still haven’t been to. But Greece is f***ing beautiful. I’ve been to Thessaloniki and Crete multiple times. Highly recommend it. One piece of general advice I can give you is always stay where the locals are! That goes for any country. They’ll set you up with the best food ever. If a restaurant, has a ton of different s*** to offer, don’t eat there. 9/10 times it’s a s***ty tourist trap. Local restaurants with like 5 things on the menu >>>

Damn yeah I hear you on the local part, only thing that makes me hesitant spending time around those parts is isn't it more dangerous? I only know English, so I wonder how difficult it'd be to navigate those territories.

I'm just about ready to say F it and go, but Europe itineraries seem sooo confusing t put together it seems you SHOULDN'T book a roundtrip if you plan on hitting multiple areas within???

I personally dont like crowds. I did stay in Waikiki though but it was like I want to get away from it. But yea, its s*** to do there but nothing stays open too late.

I stayed at the Alohilani Resort. Had a partial ocean view room. I payed $1,912 for 7 days.

Nah both can be pretty awkward for black people i think. But big cities in Italy like Rome or Milan you’ll mostly likely be fine. Tokyo i have no idea tbh dont know anybody who’s been there
