Ain't no reach bruh. Listen to those beats lol. listen to the flow. $'s in his name too. Bro was a fan that made it
Show me an example of a houston song that sounds like the rocky song I posted. Rocky was the first artist putting low pitched vocals over trap beats. Which is different than slowed down chopped and screwed music from houston to me.
An artist whose proven to be influenced by Houston doing something that closely resembles Houston still comes down to Houston influence, even if he did it a lil differently
To claim otherwise is semantics
Perhaps but that was just Travis starting out. A lot of his early stuff sounded like Kanye and Cudi rip-offs but who didn't sound like their influences early in their rap careers? You could do this with any rapper's early work. Travis eventually found his own sound that's nothing like Rocky's so I wouldn't say he stole his swag or anything
Exactly you can’t say Trav sounds anything like asap present time.
Sample comes from the same album, that's it
A bit of a reach. I mean Trav actually from Houston so his sound makes sense. Rocky the one that bites Houston rap
Imma be real if Travis never said he was from Houston I probably would've never known because he was biting Kanye and Cudi, and then Migos and Young Thug like mad. Would've just assumed he was another Atlanta artist making generic trap music of that time.
I won't lie I always thought the "Travis is copying Rocky" thing was a reach. And I also never really cared all that much. But @PierceAndPierce really got me looking at this nigga different lol like I can't even deny some of this s***
yall gas a lot of this s***
mf can't even take a black and white pic without it being biting

Dont even argue w deez dummies, Rocky is from New York, wtf u mean people BEEN putting deep voice over trap beats it’s called chopped n screwed? Living in New York is a whole alien outer space difference in culture, they don’t do that over there, Rocky just BIT SGP an artist he liked.
Tyler the creator has his vocal effect deep on early OF songs, French,
Fckn A$AP are so delusional, just come out the closet vro

Chopped and screwed is different though. They pitch the entire song down (Vocals & Beat), not just the vocals.
yeah def made this connection too but with my eyes & purity

I think the craziest thing about it when it comes to Rocky and Travis, especially with those two songs as examples, Rocky still manages to actually say some real and heartfelt s*** in his songs unlike Travis.

Became one of my favorite Trav songs instantly just off the fact it felt like it was coming from a real place. Rodeo was him at his most relatable. Rocky's just the better lyricist of the two, he's more old school with his flows and expressiveness.
