I feel like Travis is fake artsy as hell...like he keeps up this illusion that he’s as much a producer as a rapper, goes through hoops to get niggas like that dude who directed Gummo to shoot his covers, gets expensive ass videos “creative directed” ( ) by him for mid songs, and for what? To seem like he’s more of an artist than he actually Is? I’ll give him credit for What he does with autotune, but if he doesn’t have 1000 effects and Adlibs around his voice all his lyrics are subpar as hell. This nigga found a way to finesse niggas into thinking they’re creative geniuses by liking him kinda like he finessed the rap game into thinking he’s a creative genius

He’s tweeted multiple times that he doesn’t produce as much as he wants to and that he’d like to get back into it, that’s not “keeping an illusion” that’s just being honest.

If it’s not keeping an illusion then tell me why part of his Schtick was being a producer but none of his big songs were produced without 5 other more talented niggas with him....and the point of that cover comment was getting people to shoot his cover but the fact that he tries so hard to be attached to people who make him look like he’s more sophisticated than he is

My stance is that he finessed his way into even being considered a producer on a mainstream level in the first place which is obvious

He ain’t really deserve to be signed on as a producer like that, but I can atleast respect that he used his connections to accomplish what he really wanted , even if he had to lie his way through the industry

he may have picked up some hints about how to mix vocals from Mike Dean over the years, but Mike Dean is completely responsible for Travis’s vocals sounding how they do
