So many people have the wrong idea of Trav
Nah he just listing edgy artists to sound cool
It’s ard tho
Which of those artists are edgy
Nah, aside from "We Are Young" it's a good list.
Aphex Twin, Bjork, Bon Iver, Fun., James Blake, Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Portishead, Travis Scott, Z-Ro
Considering he's from Texas and is one of these people, the latter two make sense, and Z-Ro is underground but definitely not edgy.
There's nothing edgy about Bon Iver, Fun., Kanye West, or Kid Cudi. There really isn't even anything edgy about James Blake atp either, r&b has largely been molded by his innovations along with others of his era.
Aphex Twin, Bjork, and Portishead are fairly edgy. But they're also dope, all of them have had mainstream success, and Travis has been repping for Bjork since the Owl Pharaoh days. I'm partial to believe he listens to these artists.
He's got a kinda "artsy" taste in music, but I'd hardly call it edgy.
you said his list was embarrassing for a grown man then include Yeat in yours
vintage ktt2
Calling Travis list cringe and dropping the combo of yeat lame impala mid Cudi and summrs
Has to be a troll
If I had to think of 10 songs that have described my life to this point, in total honesty...
1) Can't Knock the Hustle (Jay Z)
2) Power (Kanye West)
3) Panther Power (Paris)
4) Welcome to the Machine (Pink Floyd)
5) C.R.E.A.M. (Wu-Tang Clan)
6) Rhythm Nation (Janet Jackson)
7) The Internationale
8) Motivated (Three 6 Mafia)
9) Blackstar (David Bowie)
10) Nightcrawler (Travis Scott)
No particular order.
I’m 13 and this is deep ass list
I have no clue why yall have a hard time believing black people especially artists listen to anything other than rap music
Explaining my 10:
Hustling sucks but you gotta do it in the USA to survive. Ethical persuasions are up for you to decide, but it fundamentally is what it is under the current system.
Chase security, not status. Power in itself, or fame, adulation, etc, is shallow and pretty useless
When you punch, punch up
I got to my dream job and hated it, left and have no regrets. Saw the machine for what it was and bailed.
Cash does, in fact, rule everything around me
Love the unifying message, conveys a lot of progressive values in a fun and innovative way
The Internationale warms my heart
Motivation is important for survival. You gotta know that you deserve a good life in order to get it
Blackstar always reminds me of the fragility of life itself, and to swing for the fences, because the only real risk in life is taking no risks at all
When you win, celebrate like it's the last party in history
i made a list of the artists id choose, picking songs would take a lot of time tbh
kanye
yeat
return to forever
telepath
summrs
izaya tiji
sweet trip
kid cudi (maniac)
tame impala

Niggas will listen to cummrs but get mad at you for listening to bon iver and bjork im crine
choosing a portishead song off their weakest effort is so forced
You and whoever liked this post are dumb as rocks
Kendrick’s top 25 albums are all rap
his favorite song is Ghetto Boy and here’s how he describes it
Lil’ Ghetto Boy’ was crazy because of the storytelling, and I do a lot of storytelling in this album. I really pattern… Like I listen to my album and how it’s broken down to 12 songs. It really kind of shapes and forms into an album like that. Just with the storytelling and what represents the city today and kids around the world today.
have you heard anyone talk down on Kendrick’s rap ability knowing all he listens to is rap? i bet Drake’s list would be similar to Kendrick’s, same with Cole. these niggas are rappers and came up a specific way with the desire to always show love and respect to hiphop when given the chance. Travis Scott is a rapper who wanted to sing to white folks lol. Love him, but I’d never name Portishead as defining any aspect of my life
Travis ain’t Kendrick bro, he’s always included non rap influence in his music. And tbh I wouldn’t expect Kendrick to have a solely rap list if he was asked the same question. Kendrick himself has pulled from all types of genres too.
So much reductionist takes in here. Plenty artists like trav stick to a particular brand of themselves so for people to see them in a definitive way is not totally uncalled for. But these are still real people who grew up listening to music, really not so different than any music fans. We all went through phases, we all got the right kind of music for our human mood. This is just life
holyyy s*** I just noticed impossible on there too top 3 trav songs for me he really knows ball

Kendrick top 25 album are all rap albums gang, and he said his favorite songs were basically all west coast legends and Jay-Z/DMX/Em/Nas lol. I just thought it was funny to think about cause I never hear Travis talk about his hiphop knowledge despite being raised by niggas like DJ Premier

Never seen him say this tbh im not saying it’s unbelievable but I see him having some other black genres in those lists at the very least lol but yeah I mean the nigga Travis is niggas like Cudi’s son, I’m not putting it past him to not be in depth wit hip hop outside of the era he grew up in and his hip hop influences, the Kanye/Cudi/Pharell web
