interested to see the world building he does w this one.
imo, astroworld was one of the best album's in recent times to perfectly orchestrate and create and entire "experience" that accompanied the music (shows, merch and other memorabilia etc.)
the space thing he's going for w utopia (i think?) is cool but i feel like this is very close to what he already did for astroworld. Unless im interpreting the word wrong.
Utopia chain so fkn hard
i love it. reminds me of that crash bandicoot mask lol

He def will. He’s already done it some merch. I’m sure they know how well Astroworld stuff did, like the stuff that actually makes money, tour, merch, etc.
They’re gonna go even crazier this time with the bigger fan base he has now

i kinda like how all his albums have a 'place' theme. (Rodeo, Astroworld, Utopia)
Next Travis Album Title Predictions for this decade:
Dystopia (the album he'll drop after him and kylie officially break up)
Wonderland
Neverland

Yeah I feel this
His skill at world building is a quality that has always set him apart from his other contemporaries
He has always echoed Kanye in his ability to craft an entire aesthetic around his projects - artwork, merch, the live shows, jewellery etc etc.
Although it's perhaps a bit pre-emptive, I agree with your point about him needing to differentiate Utopia's vibe from being too similar to Astroworld as they're both underpinned by sci-fi themes. Whereas Astroworld was influenced by a defunct amusement park, I need him to push Utopia's aesthetic as something far more futuristic
The singles travis has dropped post astroworld have no substance or staying power and was just carried by the brand collaborations coinciding with the release. I really hope he isn't going to rely on that method for Utopia and release an album full of mid songs.

Yeah I really wonder if he consciously drops subpar content between his albums, because as you say the stuff we've got from him post-Astro has been largely uninspired
I'm still convinced Highest in the Room was always a throwaway vibe, and the reaction it provided at live shows persuaded him to drop it and use it as hype to head into the JackBoys project
The Scotts felt so sanitised and obvious, was the moment I really became sick to death of Trav just pasting Mike Dean outros on tracks
The Plan is a interesting one, because it is certainly experimental, but even so I never find myself revisiting it. I love the instrumental and the sounds on it, but even by Travis standards, are his verses so sanitised and nonsensical
I really like Franchise, but it's his worst posse-cut single yet. As a track it's all over the place even though I like what he was going for on it, MIA is cool but ultimately didn't quite fit a beat as gnarly as that - will be interesting to see if it makes the Utopia tracklist
I just hope this material isn't indicative of the quality of Utopia, I have faith it isn't since album-wise Travis has yet to miss. Almost 3 years later, and with access to essentially unlimited resources (as well as collaborators) there is no reason as to why this shouldn't be another classic

This was a few months ago, some connection going on
Okay after @We_Out_Here 's Skeletons thread today
I have realised I actually cannot wait for this project
Can't wait to see what surprises he got instore for us this time round
are we gonna hear like future nature sounds like BJORK's UTOPIA?
Travis is a Bjork fan so maybe
“November come, won’t you pop out at the fest...”
Already had a good feeling he’d be back around Fall for festival season but this definitely confirms it. Seems like he’s continuing the tradition of dropping all of his major projects in the fall
Travis x Ariana OTW
Insider account who's got a decent amount of stuff correct
Also this is like the 4/5th time I've heard this rumour, looking very likely
Definitely excited for this collab
