hearing all these songs in real time is why it's hard for me to share the same love for astroworld everyone else does because i know trav is capable of making this type of other worldly s***
Mike Dean said UTOPIA's creative process reminded him a lot of Owl Pharaoh and Travis is being very hands on with production and using tons of live instrumentation here's to hoping
Owl Pharaoh is still the only Travis Scott project I like all the way through. He's biting the fuck out of Kanye and Cudi often throughout the project, but there still managed to be some bit of his own self as an artist throughout the project. It was interesting at the least, there was a charm. It's my favorite Travis project.
Everything after just felt like so much derivative s***e of ATL artists, too much trend hopping, and of course "make it darker". I feel like he didn't get back into his own until Astroworld.

Cool. I still like Owl Pharaoh much more than Rodeo.

Him giving us Yeezus is crazy
How he make Yeezus when Trab hasn’t made a good album even close to Yeezus
Silly Mexican :)
Still probably his best song tbh
His fall from grace is insane
def not his best song, objectively speaking
Lovesick was a great example of this
!https://youtu.be/DP8TlBLPt1Qi remember watching this even before ye signed him feeling like i discovered some forbidden music
As mainstream as he is now, I feel like he doesn’t get his proper due as a creative genius

Yoooooo
Source?
UTOPÍA is gonna make or break Travis he can come out with mid and still have the hype cuz that’s how big his brand is but it won’t be the same in the eyes of his core fans
he was super raw with his sound/talent, but he would’ve never reached the level of fame or popularity he is at now if he continued with this sound
Travis fans s*** on it but birds really helped him find his direction/footing

I think it has potential to be his best work. Been 4 years since he’s dropped and it seems like he’s been working nonstop since astroworld tour ended
Owl Pharaoh was suuuper rough to me but Days Before Rodeo had a clarity and darkness that I don’t think he’s replicated since. Old stuff is definitely interesting; he’s one of those artists whose trajectory could have gone in a lot of different directions.

someone will come with a futuristic version of this sound and take over the game
yung kayo out now

I feel like Travis did a pretty good job at perfecting the sound and finding his own voice
