Yeah, I'm not really surprised though. Not to excuse his words there, but clearly this is a regular working class guy who has never really met any muslims. Anti-islam propaganda in the US over the past like 30+ years has been insane, so if you're only knowledge of muslims comes from the media and what not, you're gonna have some wild views. Given he has other tweets saying stuff like americans are americans regardless of race/religion/sexuality, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for the time being; he seems more miseducated than he does malicious. Dangerous last words though I suppose, haha. Just nice really not to see him specifically win but the guy he was up against he dethroned so effortlessly.

People calling Muhammad (pbuh) a pedophile is a little uncalled for.

Everyone was a pedophile before the 1900s...

Mary was pregnant with Jesus when she was 12 so even the almighty could be called a pedo

The NAMBLA guys and 40 year old Taliban dudes marrying 11 year olds today are def pedophiles tho.

Great & unbiased post Frankie People infer their own current societal & legal norms to a desert, 1400 years ago

Does this potato-head not realize NJ is tied with Texas for the highest Muslim population, after Illinois & NY?

you gotta love seeing these politicians get their asses handed to by people like this, one of the funniest things ever

Waking the current pols tf up is good, but what is he actually going to do for his constituents? These types of people always have criticisms but offer nothing in the way of solutions.

I'd rather this country either be run by incompetent but genuine workers or fall apart rather than be run by corporate puppets who continue to purposefully and maliciously endanger everyone around them. I don't think this guy is gonna fix anything or solve any problems in this nation, but if we're gonna keep a democracy I'd rather it be populated with him than faux-mafioso wannabe corporate plutocrats like the guy he unseated. I'm sure realistically he'll become one himself in a few months-years but I enjoy the salt from the establishment while it lasts.

He deleted his twitter and here's him apologizing for his comments on muslims and such (nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/trucker-who-beat-nj-senate-president-has-xenophobic-posts/3034175), so you can at least know he's not a MJT-clone where he's gonna double down on his stupidity and think he's incapable of being wrong.

I guess, and I'd be on board if the crumble and rebuild were swift, but the people in power would never let it crumble to the point that they lose power, from either side

I see it more as a funny win/fuck you to the establishment more than I see it as any form of actual material or tangible victory.

Im usually not one for these election conspiracies but this specific time its incredibly suspect. dont even have to dip into rw nonsense about democrats or whatever.

in the last 2017 election the split was:

    Sweeney - 32k votes
    Fran Grenier - 22k votes

going back to 2013, the split there was also:
    Sweeney - 31k votes
    Trunk - 26k votes

    In 2021, the split was:

    33k votes - Durr
    30k votes - Sweeney

So the claim is that 12k votes were found supporting Sweeney? When Sweeney has never gotten higher than 32k votes in his entire life? Ballotpedia shows that Sweeney has never received more than 32k votes ever (2017 was the highest), since his first run in 2001: ballotpedia.org/Stephen_Sweeney

The claim would somehow be that despite democrats doing the worst they ever have perhaps in modern history, with ever the governor barely winning a 2nd term in what was originally projected to be a race easily in his favor, and democrats getting destroyed otherwise near universally, that he somehow was able to achieve 40% higher voting average than he ever has in his entire life, including the highest turnout in voters in the history of senate elections (+12k is a 21% increase of an average which has stayed stable in elections since 2001). Not possible.
