I'm going to be getting rid of my 05 F150 for a more efficient japanese vehicle. Which one of those would be the better purchase.

Rust doesn't seem that bad (im not a mechanic). Don't see any flaking
The frame connecting to the wheel looks really dark/bad but I have no idea, the quality is super low of the photo. Would check it out in person.
Where do you live? Do they salt the roads a lot?
Regardless of what you think, I would get a mechanic to come check it out and give you his opinion. That's what I've done every time ive bought a used car and it is
1st gen Tacos in good condition are bloody expensive. If you can afford it, get it. They have a really nice character to them, can’t describe it really, but just be prepared to shell out a lot of money.
