    Yeah

not the vibe I expect or want from TD tbh

the supernatural bent does seem a bit more overt than even s1.
but i dont mind it. although i do think it would be better as just a standalone series.
which makes all of the connections to s1 wild

My theory is some ancient hallucinogenic/zombifying microbes they discovered have infected the town for a while

The miners dug it up and it’s getting in the water supply

  • Jan 22, 2024

also likely some problematic twisting/mystifying of native religion

    Number

I for one would like Navarro to ride me to smithereens and take my toothbrush as well.

Nah, you will definitely be doing the riding but if that's ya thing

I’m afraid this season does NOT have the juice

These szn 1 connections.. if it doesn’t tie it up nicely then it’s downright lazy fan service bullshit and disrespectful to one of the greatest seasons of television

    Sounds like an X-Files episode

There are parts that I like but I feel this. TD feels like a generic cable mystery show without Nick Pizza's hacky autist writing we all have a love/hate relationship with. Like that's what makes even the other seasons unique too. The callbacks to S1 in this made me wanna vomit bc it was so obviously HBO shoehorning so idiots can be like "they said Tuttle omgz!!"

Also idr who plays Navarro but she just forgot to show up to both of these episodes lol. Zero effort or emotion

  • Jan 22, 2024

I thought this was an improvement on the first episode but it’s still just ok.

The writing isn’t great but I’m intrigued by the mystery. Jodie Foster is giving a strong performance but her character is falling a bit short. Navarro is entirely unreasonable.

Also f*** those AI posters, what the f*** was that??

  • Jan 22, 2024

I actually kinda like this show. Main gripe is there is too many uninteresting sideplots, I just want to see the investigation tbh

  • Jan 22, 2024

Can’t quite get into this yet , this is the first Jodie s***scene I think I’ve seen pretty funny

  • Jan 22, 2024

    This aint true detective…

Using dogshit nowadays is a clear callout to not having any original thoughts or critiques on a topic. You can do better!

I feel like the guy they got to play Travis is way too young.
