Yeah, my dad (general contractor) benefitted from the tax cuts too. But these cuts came at the cost of cutting funding for public services. Not to mention those kinds of cuts benefit the rich way more than the class middle.

if you wanna put money in peoples pockets during a recession stimulus checks or increased government spending are a far more effective way
the US debt was already nearing scary levels before corona and the deficit for this year SO FAR is 3tn
when you have to pay interest on that debt every year out of tax revenue you cannot afford to be reducing your tax revenue with a tax cut
