It’s harsh to say but it’s a price that must be paid. The west made a choice long ago to take a bit more risk in exchange of more civil liberties and this things like this virus fall under that umbrella.

Since this thing is obviously not gonna go away until the vaccine comes next summer, you have two choices. Either, play the chicken game; close down and reopen everytime a new outbreak pops up or just open up everything now. But either way, staying in a state of lockdown or semi lockdown until the middle of next year would be an extremely bad thing and woul lead to awful consequences.

Idk who is feeding you this bullshit but our civil liberties are weakened all the time lol. And no, that was not our choices. You only think this because of the completely f***ed up response of pretty much every public official with meaningful power in this country who only serve the interests of capital and wealthy donors and not the people. There are real steps that could have been taken and could be taken now that could get this under control.

I'm a teacher and TRUST that I want s*** to reopen for my own sake, for the kids, for their haggard parents. Of course, that shouldn't happen if it's hazardous. And right now, that appears to be the situation in most states.

That said, you cannot threaten school districts the way Trump did. It's going to backfire. You don't f*** around with the kids of voters and expect good results in November. Trump got slapped down by the governors for overstepping his boundaries and mimicking authoritarian rhetoric a couple months ago, and the same thing will happen here. If everyone else sees a better route forward, that is what will happen. He can threaten all he likes, but that's all this is for now.
