not nowhere close of a downwards trend compared to EU

from what i have seen you country never shut down fully
people on 4th july at huge parties and s***
I'm a teacher and TRUST that I want s*** to reopen for my own sake, for the kids, for their haggard parents. Of course, that shouldn't happen if it's hazardous. And right now, that appears to be the situation in most states.
That said, you cannot threaten school districts the way Trump did. It's going to backfire. You don't f*** around with the kids of voters and expect good results in November. Trump got slapped down by the governors for overstepping his boundaries and mimicking authoritarian rhetoric a couple months ago, and the same thing will happen here. If everyone else sees a better route forward, that is what will happen. He can threaten all he likes, but that's all this is for now.
Trump voters would vote for him if he killed their children

Thankfully Trump diehards aren't close to enough to get him reelected

Well I sure hope not

Point is that the restrictions were working, progress was being made, then everyone disobeyed the lockdown laws and went and rioted and protested, causing a surge in new cases.
You can’t support people disobeying lockdown laws and then blame the government for not locking down the country.

The difference is in the why obviously

has there been any statistical evidence that protests have led to an increase in cases? IK for sure there were protests in NJ probably around a month ago now, and we haven't seen a drastic spike in cases yet.

Well the protests began 6 weeks ago and the chart I quoted shows an uptick in new cases a month ago, so one would assume so. And scientifically speaking, it’s not hard to imagine how mass gatherings could lead to accelerated community transmission of the virus.

Memorial Day gatherings. There've been some infections from the protests, sure, but nowhere as much as from events on that holiday weekend (wherein, compared to the heavily masked-up BLM protests that were held outside, there were little to no masks in sight for MD happenings that mostly occurred indoors)

so im curious, if bars being reopened and protests have occurred without a spike, why not send schools back with proper safety precautions? because of them being inside in confined spaces?

Reopening of bars has contributed to a spike in cases

there are other articles that show numbers that come to the same conclusion.

yeah, just sharing this for others
lol talking to my friends about this right now, CAN SOMEONE PLZ MAKE CLEAR has there been 100% evidence that the protests did or did not spike cases or is everything still inconclusive.
