Chip SkylarkHe didn’t hate rap scene in New York, he was wanting to work with wu-tang & other people from there for one of his albums and was still cool with a lot of rappers there. I think one of his friends said he wasn’t sure if people from NYC still liked him because of the beef with BIG if I remember correctly
It was mostly a Bad Boy thing & anyone else that tried to come at him from there too (I know it gets confusing )

Idc how much he hated NY in the end, he was still a NY nigga. And while he was making west coast music, he still sounded like a new York nigga.
He never hated NY lol what are you talking about.
His beef was with Bad Boy & whoever jumped in the line of the BB beef, not all of NY. He even would go to NY from time to time for years to see the underground scene like Smith n Wesson n work with them (thats how he met BIG originally too, during one of his NY visits in the underground circles). Thats where his beef with Jay came in cuz Jay also frequented those areas with Jaz O before he dropped RD (we dont know to this day what happened between Pac n Jay that started the beef tho, Jay n Pacs ppl keep it locked out of respect & at the time Jay was a "nobody" so it wasnt publicized then either).
And why Pac was already s***ting on Jay in 94 to 96 before anyone even knew who Jay Z was.
He also squashed his beef with Nas 2 weeks before he died, & they were gonna do a track together for his One Nation album that was suppose to happen after 7Day. ON was gonna feature a lot of mainstream and underground artists from west, east n south such as Outkast & the earlier mentioned Smith N Wesson etc. and to dead the medias "east v west" talk.
He always bigged up NY, Baltimore, Oakland & LA. Because all those areas is what made him & he has family in all 4.
