That block he was from was considered Bed Stuy back in the day. And that area wasn't upper class at all. It was working class folk. His mom wasn't rich.
I lived in Farragut projects in downtown Brooklyn in the 90s. It was no man's land back then and still kinda is today. A few blocks away from Dumbo and Vinegar Hill.They lump it in as a part of Vinegar Hill now, but it isn't.
