I wish Dad would pick albums cause I’m tired of him reacting to Urban Outfitters core

Nah, wouldn't work. The appeal is the Dad who's older giving his insight and thoughts into music from the 2010s-2020s. The Son is just your average generic early 20s white dude who probably bumps Kanye, Frank, and Radiohead in his spare time but it's obvious he's not as articulate or even that in tune with what the artists they're covering are even talking about.

That’s one perspective. Another is the son is exposing his dad to his favorite albums and doesn’t want to over explain because that will fill his dad’s head with preconceived notions.

If you watch all or most of the videos, it’s clear the son is a true fan of music and the artists he’s presenting, and he specifically acknowledges that he wants his dad to have very little background about a project.

The OG version with the sample still exists out there, youtube for example. That's the only way you can hear it

Most people will forget the OG version because it's not on streaming services and some couldn't tell you whats the difference. The official version sounds empty to me

It’s not canon that everything after Frank’s Track is the bonus tho. Why is it? Cause he says 30 Hours is a bonus joint during an adlib? He also calls I Love Kanye “I Miss The Old Kanye”. You can’t trust a word he says, even on his own song. I definitely don’t view No More Parties in LA as a “bonus track”, to me that’s an integral part of the album’s DNA.

It is canon. The original listening party ended with wolves and the released version has 30 hours afterward which clearly states it’s a bonus, implying all the songs after it are also bonus.

Yes, if you reread what I wrote it’s directly addressing you.

    This is what you said..

“The Son is just your average generic early 20s white dude who probably bumps Kanye, Frank, and Radiohead in his spare time but it's obvious he's not as articulate or even that in tune with what the artists they're covering are even talking about.”

And like I said, the son is purposely not discussing the albums in-depth. So it’s not possible to conclude he can’t articulate his opinion and it’s not possible to conclude he’s not “in tune what what the artists are talking about”.

I also added, if you watch all the videos, it’s weird you are concluding that in the first place because the son does provide a significant amount of background considering he chooses not to reveal too much to the dad.

For example, he knew about the history leading up to 808’s, he knew Kanye’s inspiration for 808’s, he knew the story about Cudi and Kanye, he knew that Ye by itself doesn’t represent the entire Wyoming project.

I could go on and on, but it makes more sense for you to listen to all of the reactions, or just trust me that the son does have knowledge about the records and artists and is not just a casual listener.

Nah. Pops could pull out some Replacements or Oasis and put his son on. It’s not always about the youth.
