yeah that s*** was nuts. For me it's that final sequence that did it, when everybody lying dead from the poison, and Jim lookin all sweaty, and gets shot, glasses flying off, his dead eyes looking into the camera
s*** was too much for me as a kid lmao, but the movie made me really start to look into cults heavy. Do you got any documentaries to recommend?
It's not about a cult but.. You should watch The Act of Killing (2012). It's about those who partook in a genocide in Indonesia and the cameraman follows them around in recent times. Don't let the very first scene fool you, they behave like demons.
It's available on youtube as a rip if you want to deal with lower quality, just search The Act Of Killing 2012 bluray

As a screenwriter I’m pissed off but also nobody still knows how anything will be
But I’m so pissed odd for spoil. I showed it to a few close people, they didn’t leak, why should they
Was thinking about this earlier: first time I watched Pulp Fiction I immediately thought “this is the best movie I’ve ever seen”
What movies gave you this kind of feeling on your first watch?

Is there a way to make compelling television out of peace/peaceful scenarios?
I know naturally as humans we're drawn to conflict but...I don't know. The older I get the more I watch new shows thinking "BRUH IF YOU JUST COMMUNICATED THIS COULD ALL BE AVOIDED"
But then there'd be no show/no episode right?

i think older star trek sorta tackles this

it does?
Cause the reply I get to that hypothetical would be that "well, s*** would just be boring." Which, makes sense. My favorite movie of all time is City of God and that's conflict galore lol.
Like for example if all the characters from Degrassi, Insecure, or Euphoria just knew basic communication, there would be no tv show.
But it's just the older I get the more, I don't wanna say tired, but fatigued I see of tropes that boil down to "bruh just speak the f*** up."

i haven’t watched the OG series but from what i’ve heard, it’s centred around handling conflicts in a peaceful diplomatic way. could be wrong but that’s always the impression i got from it
i agree about preferring stories/characters that handle situations in a tactical way and actually communicate efficiently too

Exactly like.....but I think that's on us as the audience to have a demand for it. You can't really be successful making shows that don't have appeal. :/

yeah for sure, it’s tough to market that stuff to a general audience in an engaging way i guess. idk if i’m getting dusty or no but i just lose patience with stuff that has no common sense in its writing/dialogue now lmao
This s*** gotta stop
criterion channel subscription still isn't available in my country
idk if i can survive without criterion channel
6 feet under deserves the soprano treatment smh
The general population just left this show in the dust.
I literally never hear nobody talk about this masterpiece of a show. Some of the best characters written.
Niggas aint tryna see memento mori’s every episode right now i guess
