David Lynch youtube thread op is lame... second Rabbits episode now available on youtube in 4K
That whole last episode is so cathartic
I can go on for days about how the finale makes me feel.
So many uneasy, visceral, straight to the subconscious emotions that I can't get enough of.
Whatever it was I'm certain it wasn't hopeful
That lil gasp he does gets me every time
That lil gasp he does gets me every time
Laura Palmer has to be one of the most enigmatic and mysterious characters with the least amount of screentime on television. It's mind blowing how Lynch & Frost literally built this supernova around her with the town, music, side characters and plots and slowly began peeling away, unveiling something more sinister each time. Then 25 years later, get to the core of her. Simply unheard of and masterful. It'll be near impossible to touch this world.
I'm a first time watcher and I managed to watch S1-2, FWWM, and S3 in about a month and half. I really enjoyed spending my time with this series and movie. The town of Twin Peaks is absolutely wonderful, the characters, the music, the locations, the clothes, ugh, it's all so perfect. I was watching a video about the history of the show leading up S3, and the narrator described it as something like "a town untouched by modernity, it gives us hope that maybe there's still some place out there like this" and I think thats a beautiful way of describing the feeling that Lynch/Frost were able to create with the town.
I will say though, I was a bit disappointed with S3. It's by no means bad, it just didn't connect with me the way S1-2 did. Personally, I thought S3 had much lower lows than anything in S2, and people generally say that the mid point of S2 is the worst of the show. I was downright bored watching the first few episodes of S3. But I do think when S3 hits, it hits hard and has extremely high highs, like Cooper waking up and the episode where we see how the lodge gained access to Earth. The ending is so so. I can see why people love it and why people hate it. Personally I would have preferred more closure, but the open ended nature of the ending makes the world that much more mysterious and thought provoking, so I don't mind it.
Overall, S3 made me love S1-2 and FWWM that much more. I can easily see myself rewatching S1-2 and FWWM multiple times, but I feel like S3 would be a bit of a chore. Maybe S3 will grow on me in the next couple of days (I literally just finished it, like 30 minutes ago as I'm writing this).
RIP Catherine Coulson and Miguel Ferrer

Yo Miguel Ferrer died?! R.I.P. Robert Forster & Harry Dean Stanton as well
Weird personal connection to me, but I realized that exactly 25 years from the day the S2 finale aired (when Laura says âIâll see you again in 25 yearsâ) was 6/10/16 and I had open heart surgery that day
Just crazy cause that was always like a turning point in my life and I became a huge twin peaks fan like a year later. I also got a tattoo of Lauraâs âmeanwhileâ hands before i even made this connection so its crazy
