I still have a bit of his work to explore too. I'm pretty excited but honestly Twin Peaks is far and away my favorite. Hits the mark in so many areas and is dangerously rewatchable. It sticks with you.
cant wait !
Thoughts on the theory that Twin Peaks is a commentary on TV itself? S*** makes a lot of sense IMO

Don’t like that theory personally

It blew my f***ing mind
Is there a ‘theory’ you ascribe to?
Not really, that one just doesn't feel right. I feel like writing the show off as a dialogue on television is just plain wrong. There's just a feeling there in the show, something that deals with things beyond our knowledge that we can never comprehend, but still being able to feel like we're close to understanding
I don't even know what I'm saying lmfao all I know is I don't like the theory. I have had some theories in my head but its hard to keep track of them and wrap my head around everything

Listen to the Diane podcast. I find their theories (moreso a***ysis) a lot more engaging and rewarding, while maintaining the mystery that makes this series what it is.
I found Twin Perfect's breakdown way too meta and lacking of soul. It's also too definitive, to me.
I wish the Mitchums and the Hornes in their prime existed at the same time in the same place lol

neither does Lynch, p sure he said so when asked about it in an interview

I mean wether he likes it or not its pretty obvious it is
not a bad thing at all and they may have made the series not even consciously making it that way

Just feels wrong for me to box it in like that haha. I for sure feel it toys w the TV show formula in some very meta ways, but not in such a negatively critical, all-encompassing way that you could sum it all up as a commentary. Especially s3, which holy f***. Could be 100% wrong lol, but I just feel there's way too much of a genuine and unironic dedication to the lore (at least on Frost's part), and too much nuance in general for that to be the show's one explanation

I mean Invitation to Love is an obvious one and the glass box in S3E1 is unintentionally or not a brilliant allegory for watching S3, but for most other scenes which ppl put under this theory I think it's just mostly reductive and not very interesting to boot
dawg i’ve tried to watch this show, i got through season 1 and nothing made sense. if i go through with finishing it will things make sense? or is it purposefully meant to be confusing and a bit unsettling

lol keep going
Trust me
I just finished season one.
really excited to start season 2
Has some of the best episodes of the show but boy they should have trimmed most of the 2nd half
Very maybe possibly dumb question plz don't laugh at me. I finally decided to get into this last night and watched the pilot, I was really enjoying myself up until the very end when the mom shoots up and starts screaming, was definitely not what I wanted to be watching at 2am. I'm very familiar with Lynch's other work so I sorta know what I'm getting into but does this get like, really scary?
