They banned ChapoTrapHouse which was the biggest leftist subreddit
Why
It is a moronic statement to make any universal statement about something as simple as “Republicans”. I get most people on this site live in a bubble, but there’s numerous reasons people vote republican. Some are often racist yes.
Trump is certainly an extreme case, I’d say if you voting for him this November then yea you a racist. Many casual R’s only vote for taxes & economic policy (which as you said ultimately backs a racist candidate often) but that doesn’t inherently make someone racist.
Elon Musk has shown no signs of being a racist, I guarantee he’s voted republican 😂
Yeah I completely agree many people don’t approach politics from a social aspect at all and vote purely for economic reasons (or which party supports my religious beliefs).
As I said it’s definitely incorrect to label them as actively racist by default, but I think it’s a fair conversation to have about where do you draw the line at complicity with a belief effectively making you a supporter of that belief.
Also if you accept that voting Trump in November makes someone a racist, id point out that his R approval rate is 90%+ iirc. Given that, logically you could argue that being a Republican right now does make you a racist?
This man says this every time I quote him lmaoo he didn’t obliterate anything and he’s clearly hurt that him trying to force things down other peoples throat isn’t working. He’s still racist.
Ima start reporting u for harassment if you keep making up s***. Never have and will never be a racist. Will happily be voting against Trump once again in November.

Approval rating doesnt equal actual voting percentage though.
I said if you vote for Trump this time you def a racist. First time I give plenty of people passes because there were numerous reasons to give him a shot from a republican perspective.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Republican Party handles life post Trump. If they dig in even deeper with the craziness, then sure eventually that “all R’s are racist” could become true. But I assume given a landslide loss to Biden they’ll try not to go that route again.

Not voting for trump does not equal not racist. And no one is harassing you.
Go cry to some mods see if I give two f***s
I don't blame all rust belt state people living in dead ex manufacturing towns/cities who voted for Trump. Mainstream politics ignored them for 20 years when we started trading more with China. They let millions in cities like Gary, Indiana and Detroit suffer after pushing their globalist policy without doing anything to help them.
Rise of populist movements like this usually come from a legit concern. These people had a justifiable reason to vote Trump based on their liviehoods. He ran on getting jobs back and protectionist policies.
Now the issues of borders/alt right support/Trump personally is a whole other thing.
well said

Will do if I see you attempting to slander me like you have done EVERY single time I post even when it has nothing to do with you.
You literally cry every time I post and ignore what I say. Sheesh get a life.
Just cause I said the words private companies doesn’t mean I support them having massive amounts of power
you good then
Didn't even know Trump was on twitch and those The_Donald niggas have a whole website now ... Thanks to reddit for letting that lame ass community build up and prosper on their site for years.

I don’t know what the correlation between the two is, although I’d imagine it would be pretty strong - if you’re a registered Republican supportive of the current candidate why would you not vote for him?
I do broadly agree with you and think that really there’s a distinction between racists and those who don’t care about racism (or at least who don’t care enough to take a stand against it). It seems people are lumping the second group in with the racists which is where the “all X are Y” comments come from - I don’t necessarily agree with this but I think it’s a reasonable argument.
Yeah it’s an interesting thing to think about, if he does lose imo it’s going to be quite a heavy loss so I imagine that all those who hated him initially and then fell in line when he took office will do a 180 again lol

I think the sub originally started off as satire and just grew into a complete other animal of its own.
Threatening to kill slave owners (really)
it started by posting about John Brown. it's literally not even a real threat because time travel isn't possible. guess they just wanted to have a "both sides bad" excuse to ban the donald.

There’s a lot of republicans who don’t vote, just like Dems. Heck does even half the country vote? Lol it’d be interesting to see the numbers.
But yea if someone votes for him in November I assume they are racist (or sadly just brainwashed by parents/internet).
If he loses close they may try again. If he loses big they gotta go back to typical Rubio type conservatism lol

That’s easy cause you and hot pancakes always seem to pop up when race or politics are involved
