Spotify is the lowest form of music engagement.
You make a good point maybe thats why the quality has decline so much in general. Not a lot of care taken into physicals, booklets, ect.
Oh, I think I actually see your point now.
I don't agree with most of it, but 100 percent the presentation of music is less intentional now.

Sucks the market has had to adjust to the devaluation of music because of the streaming model.
I don’t give a f*** about Eminem, and that’s not why I mentioned RD being double platinum after its release. It’s a classic album beyond sales, and has been stamped for decades. But it’s not an obscure underground rap album either
What's a classic album, then?
Critical acclaim?
Sales?
Longevity?
Influence?
Or is it just something you know but can't quantify?
I was there, you just grew up in a circle that fell for the hype.
I don't blame you for it, really. If everybody around me kept reaffirming that Jay Z invented button ups and unironically starting sentences with "Hov said...", I'd be a little brainwashed too.
You’re an Eminem Stan which means you’re either white or you’re black but you haven’t got a shape up in years. Stop talking to me as if you know me. Reasonable doubt is a classic album. I remember when I used to hate on Jay too I was 17, but then I actually listened.

That’s a solid definition besides influence which to quote you isn’t quantifiable

All of those things can be criteria for a classic album. Some classics hit the marks more on some of their criterias than others. But it’s a joke imo to use the charts and streaming as a bonafide metric to what’s a classic specifically to an album from 30 years ago after we’ve seen the industry manipulate the game today like no other. And the same niggas b**** about it in favors on another artist

Got a line up and a facial yesterday, thanks.
Break free of the Roc Nation Brunch shackles, brother. Choose the 500k.

Labels used to play even more egregious games with the album sales pre-streaming. They used to buy them s***s themselves and store them in warehouses.
Hell, look what Jay Z did with Samsung

You niggas think because I won’t jump on the Jay Hate d*** riding train that I would pass up on free money

Exactly labels been playing smoke and mirrors in the music industry for decades. Which is why I always stood on using sales as a bonafide metric for quality of an album or whether it’s a classic as lame. Celebrate the success of your favorite artists all you want tho.
That being said, reasonable doubt is still a successful album whether it’s charting during the streaming era or not.
I can’t agree that those days were more egregious than what they do now tho imo because the scale is even more tipped now than ever. They have their thumb on everything and the tech platforms are apart of it as well.
Reasonable doubt is a double platinum album.
i dont think i ever suggested reasonable doubt isnt a classic album.
