Whoever wrote this doesn’t deserve air and i mean that
Nipsey was my fav alive rapper when he died.
In mid 2017, my top 3 alive rappers was prodigy, lil peep and nipsey. I haven't been that lucky
Real ass top 3
As someone from LA Nipsey is the first person who came to mind. Half these mfz didnt' care about Nipsey before he died i'll tell you that lol
Nipsey was always an underground artist that got cosigns from big artists. I was a fan of his from maybe 2009 or whatever but he was always underground until he died only got famous after he passed

Yeah I remember Nipsey being one of the more recognizable names in the blog era where Wiz, KRIT, Spitta, and J.Cole were still making a name for themselves. I respect Nipsey and think his music is pretty f***ing good, but i've seen so many people who already knew who Nipsey was act like he was their favorite rapper since way back even though they showed him no love when he was here
People really adopted the whole Marathon philosophy as their whole identity after he died so they can appear to be on some get money hustler type s*** lol
Not before he died tbh
How often do people get their murals while they’re still alive
How often do people get their murals while they’re still alive
true, I was just making that point because him having murals in the city doesn't really negate the fact that many people started d*** riding him after death while showing no love while he was here
Who was the last truly iconic artist to pass?
Amy Whitehouse?
MJ?
Gotta be missing somebody no?
ozzy just died

Victory Lap was Grammy nominated while he was alive, death of course speeds things up but he was gaining momentum within the mainstream off the success of that album

His last album seemed to be the one that was gonna break him out. It was Grammy nominated, I remember the song wit Ceelo was on MLB the show, when it was released it caused the most conversation he had ever had for an album.
I'm a just leave this here: ktt2.com/family-guy-makes-unfunny-and-disrespectful-nipsey-hustle-joke-32541884

Honestly impressive how he stepped it up for that album after basically being a veteran in the game by that point
Bro really locked in

Classic album
Agreed. During a time when all the rappers were leaned out and talking about being sad and doing d**** it was refreshing for someone to come out with some hustle and positivity in the music
If the metaverse unfortunately takes off I hope y'all will join me in 15-25 years digitally slapping contrarian idiots who will try to say 'now that Stevie Wonder's gone, can we admit he's overrated' or some stupid stuff like that
There will be digital blood & broken nose fragments on my hands
