i certainly wouldn't be expecting a couple who's been dating since they were 18 to get married at 22 just bc they've been together for 5 years
but once you start getting older and figuring out what you want in life relationship wise... you need to know if you're dragging someone along or being dragged along. people know what they want out of life and i've seen too many instances of people who kept postponing weddings or staying in eternal engagements, just to end the relationship and get married to the next person in 6 months. that doesn't mean the new relationship is always successful or positive but there's a difference.
if you wanna get married and it hasn't happened after a couple years, barring serious extenuating circumstances, it probably isn't happening. you will get every excuse in the book to why it isn't a good time to go through with it. both people need to keep it real and break up.
i personally am not going to wait around for years being someone's girlfriend/fiancee knowing that i wanna get married! but if the people in the tweet are happy where they're at thats what matters and its no one business to project all over it.
