y’all lowkey want to see this s*** if you don’t use fyp and follow normal people you won’t encounter any of this s***

Thats not necessarily true. A lot of people who don't seek out this content might click a link with it one time or look at something weird in their browser history and it will start getting pushed to your feed. And as soon as you get one thirst trap or racist post in your feed it's nearly impossible to get rid of

It depends on who you follow…

I’m guessing they allow more of the racist posts than most social media sites, but 4chan is 4chan. There’s a troll level that’s way higher on 4chan.

I think that’s like 40% why. 50% of it also depends on your avatar. If you have a white avatar you will see the racist s***, stocks, business, news; if Black you get pushed the fighting, rap, NBA, twerking, p*** bullshit.

new internet culture is 4chan culture + reddit culture so it's not surprising
"looksmaxxing" was popularized on 4chan and it was all over tiktok

Yep my s*** was flooded for a couple weeks after trump assassination attempt

Kept pressing not interested but sometimes it clicked into the posts first so it continued

Anyone with Threads, is it worth getting? Do you get all the standard Twitter features without the racism?

TBH, no. It has similar Twitter features iirc, but it's just IG in Twitter form at the end of the day. My feed isn't racist, but they thought it was a great idea to throw in black gender war instead

The algorithm also pushes accounts that go viral that are followed by people in your network

    Just an example

I follow an account on Twitter called 1974 Live (@50YearsAgoLive). They tweet historical events from 50 years ago in a live manner. They have a network of accounts (100 Years Ago Live, 25 Years Ago Live) which post niche historical stories

Unfortunately the owner of that account (@MannyMarotta) follows white supremacist accounts, like x.com/CaudilloXIV

So a tweet from a white supremacist that goes viral like this:

Will get pushed on your FYP because it is an account followed by someone you are interested in, and it's gone viral

It's difficult to tailor your own FYP unless you're cognizant of who the people you follow are following because of what gets pushed on Twitter

  • Aug 31, 2024

The reality is a lot of niche online topics have been co-opted by the online right and white supremacists. So it's more pronounced for the terminally online social media users

And motherfuckers trying to find a way to justify a new Trump term. Their stirring up the pot already, we don't need our "leader of the free world" to be 100% open to bullshit like this.

that’s why i only use the “following” feed. even if you use the “for you” feed just scroll past that bs and like some wholesome cat videos to fix your algorithm

saw a tweet today that just tier listed races

Are the trends recent & relevant like you don’t get things on your feed that were relevant and topical 2 days ago.

Also can I change trend locations UK to USA for example.

  • Aug 31, 2024

18 days no twitter as of today

Yup. All these racist accounts support Trump heavily.

There's certain people who think voting Trump is some type of counter culture, when it's really just them being dumb motherfuckers, who have trouble conforming into doing the right thing. Trump is a symbol of white supremacy, young people and minorities, have no business voting for that man, other then to be degenerate or their white washed.

you can always use the not interested and block features on twitter to help correct your algo

my timeline is literally just rap/pop culture + memes + food + dogs + some h**** s*** once in a while

rarely see any political/gore/hate type tweets cause i’m not interested in any of that s***
