We're living in an era where everyone is mentally depleted from a pandemic to a failing economy.

People have been conditioned to get their dopamine rush from online activity. Likes, comments, all social engagement is received as special attention and makes people feel something.

These two things in combination are leading us to a point in time where the negativity feels good. Take your anger from the world out on these artists, film studios, whatever it may be. While you're at it, rack up all sorts of likes and comments for your opinion. Especially if you can spin it to be critically comedic. Those tweets and comments get all the love.

We are no longer in a time where we share positive vibes and try to look for the best in the world and each other. Everything sucks. Everything is mid or overrated. Everybody is a problem. Everybody is cringe.

those of us who grew up online and the kids in elementary school right now are gonna be the most depressed generation we've ever seen. the internet is a very vapid and negative world to interact with. Cool in theory and a bit fun to use but I don't think humans or really any living thing should be plugged into something like the internet as much as the average person in a developed country is today.

    ignore that original post lol

The caption in the tweet is too much but Tyler’s message is important

Regarding what he says, it’s a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situation.

You can easily call something mid and disregard any further conversation like he said, and I’m not denying that it happens; but on the other hand, you can articulate as much as you want and you’ll still get some bozo saying “oh wow you wrote out your opinion just as a long winded way of saying you don’t like it”.

The hypothetical latter person in your example is a bozo and you dont have to respect them so you’re definitely not damned in that scenario

    He’s right

The avg person is stupid as hell and definitely cannot articulate clear thoughts with regards to art and artistic expression

tyler is kinda missing the point here, what people are trying to say maybe is that it's just not giving them 'that feeling.'

and no most people don't use their 'vocabulary' to describe music with phrases like Purple Forest Chords and Kayaking Summer Trip Horns

    free world

if the music is not good its not good

stop pushing this narrative that we dont listen to music.

We do and its not good!

his argument is that people don’t know how to articulate why they don’t like music, it’s no discussion, people nowadays just say it’s “mid” or bad, they don’t even know what they don’t like about it

I.E you just saying all those albums are mid and lashing out as that

  • Jun 23, 2022

    Y’all love this edgelord

I didn’t. He just asked was it worse and I said yeah it is compared to just saying “it’s not for me”

Worse wasn’t the right word. Just not productive towards tangible discussion

  • Jun 24, 2022

he's right. it's crazy how many ppl are unable to articulate why they like something. it even goes beyond music. ive froze too many ppl up asking them that simple ass question
