I saw this post online and thought you'd appreciate it

I can’t help but feel let down. Something about it is off. I don’t think the songs are good enough on their own to stand out separately. I understand he’s emulating the pacing of underground hiphop tapes from the 90’s but it feels like a gimmick and the music suffers because of it. If some of the songs had some room to breath and were able to be fleshed out into fuller songs I think I would like it more. He throws out the pacing of the album for a 9 minute samba song that is interesting to hear as a Tyler fan but again, doesn’t really stand out in anyway and as far as samba goes it’s rather pedestrian but again it’s cool to see Tyler atleast attempt it but the song is forgettable and brings down the listening experience. The other 8 minute track is cool for a first listen but there isn’t enough deviation in the beat or anything behind what he’s saying lyrically to make me want to sit through all 8 minutes again and again. Once you hear that song once you know exactly what’s going to happen. I didn’t mean for this to turn into a rant but overall I’m kind of let down. Flower boy and Igor were acclaimed because of how focused they were but this doesn’t seem as focused.

1. This should've been a mixtape

2. I know Tyler can go way more harder with the production, because the music feels way more stripped back and minimalistic compared to his other works.

3. It feels like a step back compared to Igor, because Igor left Tyler on such a high note that I felt like we was going to get something more grandiose and break more boundaries.

4. His raps in certain times felt like he was just rambling instead of just letting things flow out of him like on his earlier projects.

5. And this is the most silliness, he's just following our idol's footsteps, because lol "In My Mind Prequel"

I know this is a lot from the first listen, but man, I gotta give this more listens, because I'm sadly disappointed.

I'm happy everybody loves it tho, but this one is something I gotta get used to lol
