I learned that my main issue with these new age rappers isn’t their rapping, it’s their production. Most of it is just so flat and bland that it really hinders what they’re saying.

Most of the beats he uses aren't "trap beats". They have a specific sound catered to Louisiana. I'm not trying to be picky here but a lot of people just think drums = trap beat (still don't know what this even means). His sound is distinct

I mean to each his own but it's probably more on the critics than the actual artist when it can be proven he has a specific sound. Same thing with detroit. Same thing with memphis. Same thing with bay area. Same thing with florida. Everyone using drums shouldn't give people a reason to have lazy takes.
