He did edit it lol
African era
Hate this, its like ya'll want to control this mans narrative and be in the driver seat. exactly why i stay out of artist discussion threads until they are actually rolling an album out cause mfs just sit around for months speculating on what he'll do next and hoping he goes this direction or that one like damn shut up and be a fan
Tyler has curated his entire image into being an elder statesmen of the current hip hop landscape. I'm going entirely off of how he wants people to view him.
I'm not asking him to fulfill my quota of what his album should sound like, I just dont want the same old Tyler in a new coat of paint.
He's a calculated marketer - He set up the Mav Carter interview knowing that he wanted to make a spectacle out of his current observations of hip hop knowing he'd be dropping an album 3 weeks ahead of a sold out carnival at dodger stadium. But what did he want to warm ppl up for if he's just going to drop another Tyler album? Just get a gauge of how many impressions he'd get to know what his marketing budget should be?
What is the font this tweet about?
Wasn’t too hot on it on first listen off ig but it’s growing especially with that back half
I know everybody is comparing this to IGOR on the internet but I would really dig it if Chromakopia fleshed out more of the abrasive elements the Cherry Bomb sound had. He could really get in his bag with that
hard disagree sonically
but lyrically and visually youre right they're taking it personally
hes a creative powerhouse but hes hitting tht point in his career where he just doesn't have the same storytelling ability he had earlier in his career. it felt like FB and igor was like that perfect middle ground, CMIYGL has stand out tracks storytelling / lyrically but a lot of what he has to say since then has been more or less the same...
Lyrical judgments should be reserved til the full album comes out and we see what he actually wants to say. In my eyes this new track already has more to say than anything off CMIYGL at least
Some of us (me included) have been looking at music through the lens of marketing & narratives for too long, we’re not A&Rs, let’s just enjoy what we get
Looking at music through the lens of marketing & narratives is half of Tyler's whole M.O., so its fair game to pass judgement on that aspect of his output

I seen somebody say that they feel like this album seems to be going in a more political direction, what do you think

theres rock & grungy elements in this song like cherry bomb tried to explore

this is a narrative you created in your mind
This is really most of arguing on forums tbh
niggas: tyler is too meticulous he would never forget the track number this is 100% on purpose
tyler: i forgot
Greatest thing I learned from Tyler was to get rid of expectation and enjoy the artistic space that a person is in
I seen somebody say that they feel like this album seems to be going in a more political direction, what do you think
Kinda seems like a red herring that people are leaning into bc of the st chroma video and album cover being reminiscent of old school propaganda images. Based off this new track I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s just trying to go for the “I’m a commander with a legion of fans and it’s ruining my life” type of vibe, rather than something explicitly political
If Tyler gets fr political that’d be dope to hear though
