That's usually a sure-fire way to figure out if a Tyler fan actually understands music or if they're a conformist. In an attempt to show how different and individualistic they are, they all chose his most criticized album to be their favourite and now it's shifted from the unpopular opinion to the popular opinion. Trust me, it's never actually their favourite. They just say that to act like a real fan.

Do people realize it's okay to acknowledge that an artist has gotten better with each project? That's literally how it should be. If their art isn't getting better, there's a problem.

After my third listen today I definitely might be starting to think this is one of my favorites from him. Obviously because of the quality of the music but also because this is probably the album of his I can most relate to.

A lot of the points on fatherhood and being at the age where you might be expected to settle down (27 is kinda the beginning of that time depending on who you ask). Most importantly for me, I can relate to trying to live up to a father who wasn’t there.

I cried my f***ing eyes out listening to “Like Him” this morning. I lost my father when I was 10 and my entire life I’ve been told that I look like a carbon copy of him. So when Tyler was saying those same things in that song it felt like a gut punch. It’s almost an exact reflection of my feelings on my relationship to my father.

“Am I chasing a ghost?” That is the line that just f***ing rocked me. I can probably say “Like Him” is one of my favorite Tyler songs of all time.
