Finally finished the album. The "bangers" tend to be the songs I rank lowest on his albums but especially on this one because there's no way I can put songs like Rah Tah Tah, Thought I was Dead, Sticky above songs like Darling I, Take Your Mask Off, Like Him
Take Your Mask Off is a perfect song. Just wish he didn't make the second verse about homosexuality and religion. Pointing out the hypocrisy of religious people who have pre-marital s***would've been more widely applicable so a more relatable and valid social critique imo. I know that homosexual religious people being ashamed of their sexuality is common, but I think just making it about s***in general would've made it hit harder
Definitely think I have it above CMIYGL at this point, need to sit with it more before I can put it above IGOR and Flowerboy
Forgot to add this - Tyler has been more open and vulnerable these last few albums but for some reason I can't believe that these stories are actually his life. Like when Jay made 4:44 and Kendrick made Morale, they felt like actual experiences they went through. But with Tyler, I can't believe it actually happened to him for some reason. Maybe it's because on albums like IGOR and this, he's got characters with dedicated costumes and everything. Maybe it's because I just see him as the goofy troll who doesn't gaf like he is in his interviews. Idk, it's weird
Got my CD in the mail today,
Time to check out the physical exclusive track.
Surprised I got it so quick since I remember ordering the Igor CD and it arrived months after the album came out
Listened to the CD version after work today
When I saw the website label it as 'test pressing' I thought it was just a marketing thing but now I noticed some of the lyrics in this version are different and some parts are missing e.g Glorilla's verse on Sticky
Buying concert tickets is such a pain these days.
I only pre-ordered the CD so I could get access to the pre-sale for the world tour and I was stuck in the queue for 30 minutes and the tix were gone when I got in. Thankfully my sister managed to get tickets so I won't be missing out but I'm still annoyed at AXS for that website experience LOL

I think all of the general stories are true even w the character
Idk about this new album but that igor/cmiygl love triangle and friend circle is real i actually met one of them at a party once lol
Please watch this whole interview if you haven’t. Tyler was always meant to be who he is now. He was 19 at the time, first interview i ever watched from him and still one of his best, ive been all in on him ever since and he hasn’t let me down once. My favorite artist of all time
Love this album because if you've been keeping up with Tyler, you'll notice that a lot of the things he's speaking on here like aging, gaining weight, becoming a father etc has been things he spoke about in interviews just a few years ago
I remember an interview he did with Zane Lowe and spoke about riding around on his bike and he's scared of becoming fat. He said other niggas around his age look gross
Think he said on that Flex interview too that he doesn't want kids. So him contradicting some of his previous viewpoints makes the album hit harder. Same with him mentioning smoking weed on CMIYGL

Not saying he's lying or the things didn't actually happen. I just have difficulty associating these events with the same Tyler The Creator I've seen in interviews and been listening to for years for some reason. Maybe it's the characters, maybe it's the drastic shift from B******-CB to Flowerboy-Chromokopia

Facts, people take his old stances way too seriously Tyler was clearly a kid with insecurities who would speak out on things he actually liked but was afraid to try or felt like he couldn’t do (Gayness, samples, lyricisms, designer clothing, cars, working with other rappers) these are all things he condemned at one point but its pretty clear he never hated any of these things and built up a persona to cope with not having them. I was the same type of kid, and I’m just now breaking out of that at 23/24 and finally trying a lot of new things and not being so scared of failure I’m just glad I didn’t have a platform at 18/19 or I’d look like a hypocrite in a lot of ways when I’m really just tired of limiting myself and being close minded to help with insecurity

This song pre dates Odd Future and hes rapping about women, cars, clothes, and luxury trips just like on CMIYGL, this is who hes always wanted to be lol

I feel you its legit hard to picture tyler in a relationship for some reason for me
It woulda been crazy seeing him have a kid lmao

Could be either tbh. Thought the line about Jerrod providing methane was about a lighter, but I realised now that's actually Butane. So that nigga Jerrod was just farting while they were hanging out
