I’ve said this before and I’ve said it again, Cole is in the big 3 because he is the ONLY commercial rapper than can do respectable numbers and drop occasional hits and big features that can compete with Drake and Kendrick skill wise.

It was never really about his discog or his music being great. FNL is a landmark classic tape and FHD is universally a classic album and that’s really all he needed to lock in his spot bc no one else in the commercial space comes close to rapping as well as those 3 do other than Big Sean maybe but he too goofy he like a Luda/Busta teir rapper

Drake and Kendrick are the millennial Big/Pac and Cole is considered to be a***ogous to Nas in that comparison. Or if you want to say Drake is 2000s Jay-Z, Kendrick is Em and Cole would still pretty much be Nas more or less. These aren’t perfect comparisons but it’s pretty close. If this was the 80s Drake would be LL, Kendrick would be Rakim or KRS and Cole would be Kane.
