I think he enjoyed it in the same someone might’ve enjoyed riff raff or something along those lines.

Remember when he said all hard Rs want are Jordan’s and 808s. He thought that type of s*** was beneath him

Yeah goes back to my point about him being an edgelord and his views being incoherent when he was younger.

The nigga was rapping over Gucci Mane beats on the Radical tape, he was 100% listening to them niggas

How do you explain the shift in how he moved after the Khaled mysterious music era?

He also insinuated that he doesn’t actually care about the art or whatever

Yea bro a white person jacking sound and slang from a region he’s not even from and rapping in accents that’s not even his tends to get people to raise a couple eyebrows

I feel like on a surface level it makes sense what he said but when you really look at it, Ian was producing for other underground artists before he started rapping himself. That doesn’t sound like someone who doesn’t “care about the art”

No idea why Tyler came to that conclusion and why he felt so comfortable talking down on that kid like that

he heard the music and it spoke for itself tbh

tell me one single time Tyler spit a dope verse

He doesn’t have super crazy verses, but what makes him standout is his level of creativity, and that’s controversial within itself.

    I say that as a T stan

Nah Tyler actually f***ed with Waka and Gucci

He actually did a song with Waka and used to try and produce for Gucci but his beats weren’t right for Gucci, he would legit have them on his playlist he made for fans and he made a serious RIP post to Slim Dunkin on formspring when he died

I get the general point of Tyler being disrespectful to rap too, he did a lot of lame s*** as far as how he treated rap and I do think he is compensating for it now, but I think tyler has just always been a contrarian and a troll but if you followed him back then he was always deeply knowledgeable about rap

After the Khaled comments he started making more of an effort to get his music out to a certain type of artist and to n a way a certain type of fan

Drake and Doja cat do this too though

This is not even true. The shift in Tyler’s music happened during Flower Boy after the terrible reception Cherry Bomb.

The Khaled comments came after Igor and he was already deep in his bag before that

Edit: wait what type of fan do you mean

We have literally seen Drake get called a culture vulture all year idk what you want me to tell you

Its actually wild how much the Khaled comments effected him, I think honestly that was for the better in retrospect it put a battery in his back

He ended up revealing he was so upset bc he grew up listening to Khaled’s music so the comments came outta nowhere for him

Lowkey sometimes i wanna say the contrarian and hardcore troll in him at that time comes from him trying to stay in the Closet. im not saying it was 100% the reason but when u try to stay Low like that, it always has some type of effect on you personality-wise to cope

He has a verse from 2010 where he said

“Box logo on my motherfucking chest, left hand staggering on her motherfucking breast, deep down i’m an emo f***ing F slur thats depressed so the f***ing school suggested me a therapist”

I genuinely think thats how he felt about himself as a teen and explains why he was so negative and angry, and why he has changed so much over the years. People really act surprised that a 33 year old man doesnt act the same way he did when he was 19 lmao

Tyler was rapping over Madlib beats for freestyles and s*** before the internet really started d***riding Madlib lol

You not just gonna listen to an artist like that if you don’t have some sort of appreciation of the genre
