Because blue book was basically shelved or "concluded nothing substantial" the air force got kind of burned by putting their info in and it getting thrown away essentially.

There clearly is no way that they collected over 12000 UFO reports and they all concluded the same as nothing.

There is no way the navy findings are substantial but the AIRFORCE didn't find anything. I'm sure alot of the pilots who reported things were disbarred. Many of them lost their jobs which is why many didn't come out for a long time. If they saw something, they kept quiet about it

But considering the military whole attitude towards this subject, basically ignoring everything they came across for decades, I don't think the military have tried.

Maybe more secretive collectives within the govt though. There has to be at least one group who have tried to make contact. How substantial the results are up in the air. But considering we're starting to disclose everything, we may have reached a point of communication with them by now. I find it hard to believe the govt would disclose everything if the only thing we truly knew about them is that we know they aren't us. That may be their public position atm, but the truth is they've probably reached some form of contact to where they can say we aren't going to engage in conflict with them.
