There are aliens (possibly Extraterrestrial, possibly of Earthly origin) that are the sources of these crafts and many world governments and powerful players (the family etc.) have been keeping this under wraps for security but largely selfish reasons (religious beliefs etc)

or

Some government has these incredibly innovative crafts and has had them at the very latest since the 1940s, and has yet to openly discuss them, use them, or even acknowledge their existence for security and selfish reasons AND no other government has even gotten close to said technology.
