So kids that grow up in unstable environments, they may have a myriad of different reasons affecting their ability to get a decent education.

Lack of food security, d****, crime, Universities purposely choosing which schooling zones to accept students from. That’s even implying these students are pushed and strived by administrations or their own parents (again depends on the home life) to even believe in themselves or give them opportunities to expand.

Then we can get into the optics and messaging of how low income schools or even locations in general are treated by the media. Parents choosing where to invest their money and send their kids to school (as they should, but the whys/ifs and how they choose to personally become invested in that particular institutions future. Are the teachers operating there in good faith? Or do they have the mindset of “these kids are troublemakers and can’t be fixed”

Do we have faculty that look like them? How many POC faculty do we see in America vs them working janitorial or cook positions and not positions of leadership in American educational institutions. That also factors into what kind of legislation gets passed and how that affects those areas.
