@op what role did he play in the genre of Grime what’s his most notable song/songs post em

He's pretty much the most important UK artist since the 60s/70s. It would take too long to explain the amount of sounds, melodies, flows and ideas other artists have taken/sampled from him. Also he did a lot of scene building, essentially helping to create an industry that wasn't there before in the face of certain records and performers literally being banned by (imo) racist police forces and authorities

In terms of songs, he has too many classics to list. And his influence goes beyond just Grime tbh

But, he deserved what he got for those anti-semitic rants. There's no defence for it. He was specifically upset by his ex-manager who happened to be Jewish, it seems Ye is coming from a similar place. Outside the stuff removed by one label (his best album), a lot of his music is still on Spotify though so that will probably be the same for Ye.

wait wtf they took godfather off streaming

his best album to me. Honestly the best album from a uk rapper of the 2010s alongside Kano's albums. But yeah that was the only music they took down because it came out on a different label to the other stuff.

Of course all the bs 2000s pop tracks stayed. I'm guessing the pop songs came out on majors though, making it seem even less likely that will happen to Ye's music as most of it came out on Universal

They took that off streaming like 2 years ago

    Label issues I think I can’t remember

One of his best late career albums for sure tho

I think it's better than any of the early albums or tunnel vision stuff too tbh as good as some of the songs on those were
