I'm not sure how much it's discussed on this board, but there's currently an underground hip-hop explosion going on. Lots and lots of interesting names to keep an eye on. Really good stuff reminiscent of Raider Klan, Odd Future, Beast Coast, Sad Boys, etc. There's admittedly a lot of garbage to sift through, but I'm hoping to bring some exposure to great music deserving of it. Most information about these crews is passed around via word of mouth, so I'm hoping to generate conversation and eternalize information I've gathered on my favorite acts from the scene. (Also, I'm somewhat new to the site, so if I can improve this post in any way please let me know).

    MuneyGettinRidahz / Jewelxxet / HexxMafia

Dark, evil and disgusting. If you're interested in hearing the pitch-black soundscapes of SpaceGhostPurrp brought to their logical conclusion, definitely give these guys a listen. Highly influential. Without their contributions, the SoundCloud scene may as well not exist. Quality varies greatly from member to member (Islurwhenitalk is terrible IMO), but they pump out enough gold that its forgivable. 4jay and Rodeoglo are the obvius stars of this little clique. Some of 4jay's tracks have been making the rounds on tiktok, so his sound may be familiar. Rodeoglo's "Blvckhevrt" mixtape from last year is an essential listen and a great starting point as well. Despite once being a large, inseparable entity, I'm fairly certain that Jewelxxet and HexxMafia are currently engaged in a beef war over satanism. I don't know/care about the specifics, but its a notable tidbit that displays what kinda dudes they are haha.

    Haunted Mound

Witch house / drill metal / emo rap (trust me they make it work) collective/label that popped up about two years ago, and has already established a cult fanbase. The frontman Sematary is a genius entrepreneur and has carefully crafted an unmistakable aesthetic for the group. His music can get a little bit same-y, but he has several undeniable bangers in his discography. Co-founder Ghost Mountain quit music for good somewhat recently, but not before delivering some outstanding performances. His presence puts Sematary to shame on nearly all of their collaborative efforts, although it's Sematary's production that provides the framework making it all possible. The rest of the team hasn't really put out much solo stuff yet, but there's certainly a lot of potential.

    Crackden Records / Murderfuckers / 2012 Records

Probably my favorite of what the scene has to offer, and also the most esoteric. Three seperate groups that each still exist in one form or another with immense crossover. Their sound is all over the place, loosely held together by a post-YTP sense of humor and a melancholy, internet-based aesthetic. Y2KRI$I$ and Eternity God's "$pirit Gurlz" subduo is a fantastic starting point. 100 Gecs-esque melodic nightcore rap with strong influence from Hype Williams, James Ferraro and the like. CacneaSpikeThug37 and TridentGod are equally important, and have covered a lot of sonic ground. CST's off-kilter, producer showcase tape from last halloween is a fun listen, and TridentGod's "Tales of Chimbad, Vol. 1" is a solid blend of tread and DSBM.

    CuteMobb

The closest I will get to covering hyperpop in this post. CuteMobb consists mostly of pitched-up (sometimes out of key) vocalists rapping about 2000s scene/emo culture over 2013 Chief Keef instrumentals. The gimmick gets old pretty fast, but some of these tracks are seriously addicting.

    1332 - Twice As Evil

I honestly don't really know how to describe these guys since the music is so unhinged. Ring-leader "Cyb3rl0rd" goes under dozens of aliases and seems to be under the influence of psychedelics more often than not. His tracks under the Cyb3rl0rd name display a bold use of vocoder, creating a truly unique atmosphere. Creek Indigo's tracks are equally as unique and often dip into noise rock. There's some overlap with Crackden Records here as well, Eternity God is a frequent collaborator of the group as well as Cryw1tch fka "Starry is Sorry".
