@Zulaw you peep the new Curly Castro?
Nah, I can't keep up. Didn't know it existed. Will peep.
Aesop has changed a lot since his last Blockhead project. This should be nice.

Cursory listen walking the dog.
Killmonger was right, and I've been saying that! I'm pretty sure I've tried Castro's solo work before and nothing stuck. First impression, I'll be going back to this for sure. He's going full bore on a lot of stuff bigger artists only flirt with. It's like a black panther comic book.
Not sure how you square the inclusive politics of somebody like Fred Hampton with that, but you really don't have to in art. It's more the ego versus the id. I don't mind skillfull political art I disagree with unless it's underhanded. This is blunt, and very cleanly made. All the features bring it. That dubstep rasta stuff on Khuju popped me. The gentrifier chorus goes. Black panther vs a white goes. Solid songwriting.
Of course, to take it as a steadfast political statement is a different task- and probably a misguided one at that. Revolutionary roleplay trends a little too close to race war roleplay for my taste specifically. Doesn't get in the way of the art or the justified anger. Very cathartic. Less toxic than Kanye's "Montana" bar on DONDA tbh. I hope mainstream outlets cover it. Curious how they handle that aspect of it.
Thanks for putting me on. I'll have to see how my opinions of it evolve.

Excited to check this out. Enjoyed him on the last two Armand Hammer albums.
Basquiat really did not die to be used as cover art for a Graph album smh
