It can be really easy or really hard and it is completely arbitrary. Some jobs have potential holds, ie school workers can't use unemployment just bc it's summer break and if that gets jammed up you could be at their mercy waiting til whenever they get around to processing your individual hold. I imagine some states systems are way better than the backward as right wing state I'm in

Well the unemployment office thinks I been outta work for 2 years but I actually got let off an independent contractor job for quarantine so I’m technically getting pandemic money and regular unemployment.
