I think for art after like 70 years the copyright expires and you can use it for whatever w/o permission (might be wrong tho not 100% sure about this)
and for more modern s*** I’m pretty sure most ig brands aren’t big enough/moving enough units for anyone to care (unless youre stealing art from like small time ig artists.. then that’s f***ed up. I’m talking more like bootleg movie/album/musician shirts)
iirc I remember reading some like history thing on supreme and when they first started they would do a lot of parody s*** where they flip famous logos and they would just do it and worry about cease and desist as they come. I think they got away w a lot of s*** too cause of parody law or some s***.

Preme still does it but they get away with it cuz it’s all gone after 1 day

Yea i learned about fair use laws in school and that’s something that can always be argued but i feel like most of these brands arent changing the original work enough for it to fall under fair use. Like ppl just straight up throw some black and white photo of bjork on a tee with some japanese characters lol
But ya ur probably right about them simply not being big enough for anyone to care. And yes ur also correct about the 70 years
