I agree but what were your problems with it?
The fact that it plays it so safe is my biggest problem with it. It’s a good show but it doesn’t try to be anything else. Gojo, Nobara, Megumi and Itadori are decent characters so far but the rest of the cast needs more time to develop. This season was a 7/10 but this is the first season so that could change for the better or worse. Probably better though going by the way people talk about the next few arcs. Overall i enjoyed it and will watch the next seasons when they release, maybe even pick up the manga again.
Overrated Actors:
Masherla Ali
Jen Ani
Ashton Sanders
Brian Tyree Henry
Gal Gadot
Overrated Directors
Marvel Directors (sans Coogler and Faverau)
Mahershala is incredible, that True Detective performance alone is goated
Idk if this is an unpopular opinion or not but it really feels like crime/action movies or action-adjacent peaked in the 70s/80s. 90s still had cool s*** but after that stuff started to get too glossy and generic.
Been looking at old crime and action movies from the 70s and most of this s*** would be too niche to get made today
a lot of them aged like s*** tbh
die hard is a dud in 2021
aliens is alright but no way is it better than alien
predator is not bad but definitely very dated
I saw a video that was stating that BCS was overrated and they said it was because of the d*** cartel/Mike story not being as interesting as it could have been but giving BB a pass on s*** like Marie and Skyler side stories
Never understood that.
BCS >>>> BB overall to me
Really want to rewatch BB to see how it holds up, but it seems like it'll be a chore to get through. BCS I could rewatch any day of the week.
Jujutsu Kaisen is a 7/10 not a 10/10 like people make it out to be
Agreed, I love the animation though.

Coming 2 America more faithful and genuine to the black experience than the disingenuous race consciousness bs produced by leftist white guilt Hollywood. Bravo Eddie Murphy 🙏🏾👏🏾

Unpopular opinion but sometimes s*** not translating that well into 2021 is okay. 2021 movies been boring as f*** as far as action movies go anyways. And movies being a product of their time is okay cuz it’s cool to look back on how different things were culturally and stylistically
Die Hard cheesy but still fun and a lot more memorable than some of the action movies that came out in the last two years.
Comparing Aliens to Alien doesn’t really work cuz Alien is clearly a horror movie while Aliens is trying to do something way different.
Predator cool.
And the thing is I wasn’t even referencing these movies I was referencing more cult classic movies like Vanishing Point and what not

yeah fair enough those type of macho action movies in particular aren't really a thing any more so you're right in that sense
i do think they get looked at pretty favourably though, and i/we can only judge it watching today really
i guess the point i was getting to is that of films from the 70s/80s the action genre aged more poorly than the rest (mobster, war, epics etc. seem to have aged like fine wine)

true but there's some gems that are interesting & deserve another look imo. I said this earlier in this thread
Two Lane Blacktop
Meiko Kaji movies (Lady Snowblood, Female Prisoner Scorpion series)
Streets Of Fire
Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior
Thief
A couple of Steve Mcqueen's old films
Battles Without Honor & Humanity series
Off the top of my head, these movies aren't perfect and they have an approach stylistically that's pretty dope.
And in terms of movies like Mad Max and Thief these can definitely be made today cuz so many movies take elements from these.
Mad Max Fury Road is damn near a remake of Mad Max 2 when it comes to certain plot elements and what not and is a perfect example of what I'm talking about imo it has that gritty 70s / 80s style while still being modern

my problem is the pacing everyone seems to love it but imo it's one of it's biggest flaws. Stuff goes by too fast for it to have the impact it wants. Like the trio was only together for 2 eps before yujis "Death" not even 2 eps because megumi wasn't with nobora and yuji when they went to the building. the school shooter characters death didn't work that well for me either The next big arc for the anime will be pretty good if it has the same quality as the first season but currently the manga still has the same problems which is pretty disappointing.

I agree, but that’s a common thing in anime. Not a lot of shows get pacing right, that’s why when a show actually does do it, i love it even more.

I'm not necessarily against this take but elaborate.
This but with Neon Genesis Evangelion
Not unpopular but just came to specify that 2nd half a masterpiece. Really beautiful.

You’ll get it after you watch the whole series and end of evangelion

Look above 😂😂
I'm currently watching Demon Slayer and I really don't get the hype. I'm on episode 11 and this s*** is very regular. Like the animation is good but outside of that I don't see why this is popping like it is. This is only the first half of the series so I assume there's a really good payoff in the 2nd half.
Animation is stunning but man I am bored as hell with story
