Reminder that Three Billboards and Green Book are both trash ass movies and anyone who supports them is the reason why these mediocre s***ty soulless oscar bait films that use racism as a crutch keep getting made and keep winning awards. Stop championing white mediocrity. Them films were garbage. Stop letting white people who dont know or care about black struggles or history keep making these movies. They need to stick to making dry ass coming of age movies and s***ty comedies.
Yeah make a Letterboxd fam. Its a nice way to log/rate films you watch, make lists, and follow others to see what they've been watching too.
And even though I largely ignore the greater "public" sections of the site, where you can read any user's reviews/lists even if you don't follow them, you might like using it to browse those as well. (Just be warned that there's a good bit of novelty/meme accounts that just treat the platform like twitter/instagram, and you can throw a rock in any direction and it will probably hit half a dozen users with absolutely atrocious takes on almost anything lol.)
However, it's fairly easy to find more interesting and likable users to follow too, and there's a big thread on here (and on the old site) filled with people sharing their profiles to get you started if you want to follow some folks.
But even if you dont follow a decent circle of people, the app is still the best personal film log and database out there IMO. I'd use it even if followers weren't a feature.
"a good bit of novelty/meme accounts"
lol. its basically 99% meme accounts. Plus Sean Baker telling you what lense was used, David Ehrlich being the first to see the film, Eli Hayes jerking off everything and lately Demi.
And then you get fights between the joke reviews and pseudo ironic objectification of actresses (because they DID ithat/i) and the loser film bros who can't deal with women doing things.
its a nightmare tbh

Which is why I ignore that part of the platform
It functions just as well (or even better) when you act like the "everyone" options don't exist tbh. I stopped acknowledging Ehrlich's existence a while back, but Eli can be cool at times (though I stopped following him last year cause his activity was clogging up my feed lol).
I follow Sean Baker still for some reason, though I think I'm just like most people starting following him cause it was cool that he was on there, but now it's just to laugh at his pointless "anti-digital, but not really, but also really" comments he makes sometimes haha.
I have no clue who Demi is tho tbh, and judging by the ones you grouped them with, I don't care to
But there are a lot more "decent users" on there than it seems at first glance. It just doesn't help that the most popular users/reviews get sorted to the top of the public lists by default, so people making intentionally polarizing or grandstanding reviews for likes/comments will make up a lot of what you see at first
GoT is an overrated series and doesnt deserve the attention its getting.
Too many people be jumping on the train.
Breaking Bad the only masterpiece, the detail put in there is unreal. True Detective 1st Season was a diffrent vibe.
Cant tell me s*** with ur dragon fairytales.

Which version did you watch?
One version immediately begins with the title screen and cuts to the club with the Jay-Z line "Who you know fresher than Hov riddle me that?" from Numb/Encore
The other version starts with a boat race sequence, then title and the club needle drop above.
I like both, but I definitely prefer the one that jumps straight to the club cause that needle drop hits so hard being right at the start of the film
