I mean they literally throw in flashbacks to the original just so you know the scene is supposed to be nostalgic. The Matrix 4 already poked fun at obvious nostalgia with the same technique and now modern blockbusters are literally doing just that. I don't think that's something Tony would've done. It also just plays heavy into legacy sequel tropes and doesn't have the erotic feel of the original.

people keep calling Top Gun 2 an old fashioned blockbuster but outside of the practical stunts it's really no different .

Zack Snyder's action sequences, despite getting a lot of love even from his haters, are terrible! At least in his DCU films.

There is no sense of geography, tension or weight in his action scenes - they all for the most part look like globby CGI mess.

Oh and could never get into anime even tho I tried just find it too weird personally. I watched Akira, some of My Hero Academia, little bit of Dragon Ball something, Attack on Titan once lol, and maybe some other things if I hear names.

Sorry for ya’ll old film heads like from 60’s back I can’t get into em lol i’m 25 so cut me slack. But man after seeing all the new s*** from growing up I can’t go back like that and take it seriously. Sorry not sorry maybe one day i’ll try again but they ain’t for me times have changed.
